‘Death to America’ Trump aims, not the American country, Iran leaders say
Iranians will recite "Death to America" as long as Washington proceeds with its hostile policies, yet the slogan is directed at President Donald Trump and U.S. leaders, not the American country, Iran's supreme leader said on Friday.
“As long as America continues its wickedness, the Iranian nation will not abandon ‘Death to America’,” Ayatollah Ali Khamenei told a gathering of Iranian Air Force officers denoting the 40th anniversary of Iran's Islamic Revolution, as per his official website.
Trump hauled out of Iran's 2015 nuclear deal with world powers a year ago and re-forced sanctions on Tehran, dealing a blow to the nation's economy.
